Uptime monitoring for your clients' WordPress and Joomla sites

When a site goes down you need to know before your client calls. Some failures slip past an ordinary monitor, though: the site answers, but with the wrong page.

A site can answer and still be broken.

Many monitors only look at the status code. To them a defaced site, a database error page served with a 200, and a home page that redirects to a casino are all "up".

With dozens of sites to look after, you need to know before your client does, with enough detail to know where to look.

How we check, from our servers.

  1. Regular requests

We call each site at the interval you choose, from 1 to 60 minutes, and measure the HTTP status and response time.

  2. Text check

If you set a keyword, we check it's on the page. A replaced or blank page triggers an alert even with a 200 OK.

  3. Alert and recovery

When the site is reachable again the alert closes by itself. Email and webhooks reach your team, and several things happening together are grouped.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything for uptime monitoring?

No. Uptime is checked from outside with just the URL. The agent, if you install it, adds the checks that can only be done from inside the site.

How often do you check a site?

You choose for each site, between 1 and 60 minutes. For less important sites 5 or 10 minutes is usually enough.

What if the site answers but the page is wrong?

If you set a keyword that must appear on the page, you get an alert when it's missing, even if the server answers 200 OK.
